The lough lies in a col that straddles the boundary line of County Sligo and County Leitrim. The fence coming down to the waters edge denotes the boundary, Sligo on the right and Leitrim on the left. Always remember that in most cases you are walking over somebody's land. So don't forget to always ask permission from the landowner before beginning.
