Museum of Power, Langford - high lift force pumps
Museum of Power, Langford - high lift force pumps
The three force pumps under the 1931 Lilleshall steam pumping engine. These have plungers 16.25" diameter x 42" stroke. The rod and cylinder closest is the air pump that removed water and incondensible gases from the surface condenser. The riveted vessel is the oil separator with the exhaust pipe entering from the left. This plant is now not used as the engine exhausts to atmosphere in its museum role.

This area can be accessed on request and at the discretion of the operating staff. Hard hats must be worn and the access is steep.
