The Royal Air Force Memorial and the London Eye
The Royal Air Force Memorial and the London Eye
Designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield and surmounted by an eagle sculpted by William Reid Dick, the Royal Air Force Memorial was erected in 1923 on the Victoria Embankment. It was dedicated to the memory of the casualties of the Royal Air Force in World War I but extended now to all subsequent conflicts.
