The church was built 1828/30, it had seating for 2,000 people - see photo on The Churches of Britain and Ireland website : Link
. Over time the building became structurally unsound, the spire was removed in 1947 and the rest of the church was demolished in 1982, leaving these foundations.

The church grounds are now a park, with play equipment and sports facilities. Old gravestones have been moved to the back wall - closer view here : Link .
