J0648 : Former police barracks, Gilford

taken 8 years ago, near to Gilford and Clare, Northern Ireland

Former police barracks, Gilford
Former police barracks, Gilford
A derelict (and fenced off) building in Dunbarton Street. On the “at risk” register, as BARNI 17/01/001, where it is described as “A relatively plain, two-storey, five-bay building retaining its full Georgian glazing pattern and, save for a few broken window panes hidden beneath the plywood boarding, appears to be in a fair state of repair, Described in the MBR as “â former constabulary barracks later used as a courthouse” it is unclear as to how long it has been vacant and a number of modern additions, including a single-storey garage to the left, suggest that it may last have been last used as a dwelling.” The condition has changed, for the worse, since the description was written.
