A tree barely surviving, Township Allotment
Stripped of leaves and with a ravaged, twisted trunk this stunted tree still clings to life in an exposed and unforgiving environment. It will be half a year before any sign of renewal - or will it finally give up the long struggle? It seems to be looking forlornly down into the softer climes of the Lyth Valley where the fields are still green and Brigsteer is just in view.
