Wandsworth Road station was opened on 1st March 1863, and closed completely on 19th May 1926. It reopened on 20th September 1926. Most trains pass it by on the fast tracks to the right. In 2012 the station was taken over by London Overground, and trains on their way from Clapham Junction to Highbury & Islington via Surrey Quays now call here. This is the view from the footbridge connecting the two platforms. The gasholder in the distance overlooks Battersea Park, whilst Battersea Power Station is to the right.
