The combined Post Office, Tourist Information Centre and gift shop is called "The Hub". It is on the end of this block NY3704 : Central Buildings, Ambleside .
The market cross dates from around 1650, it has been moved from its original position and the head was lost some time before 1807 (information Armitt Museum LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) ) . The cross was restored in 1995, it is a grade II listed structure.
