There are three pairs of stones with only one set fully clothed. The damsel lies loose on top of the unclothed stones nearest the photographer. The stones are underdrift and the wooden main shaft goes down to the floor below to drive the great spur wheel that drives three stone nuts and the drive to the wire machine (seen in the left background). The governor is also on the floor below.
