TF3243 : Railway swing bridge across the River Witham

taken 10 years ago, near to Boston, Lincolnshire, Great Britain

Railway swing bridge across the River Witham
Railway swing bridge across the River Witham
There is still occasional rail traffic into Boston Docks but it is just a shadow of former times. The bridge is swung into position across the river when trains require to cross it. In busier times, it is more likely to have been left in position for rail traffic, being opened for river traffic as required.
