Hayes Knoll: Dismantled railway line
This is the trackbed of the dismantled Midland & South Western Junction Railway that operated between Swindon and Cirencester from 1883 to 1961, viewed from the former level crossing at South Meadow Lane near Hayes Knoll. National Cycle Network Route No. 45 runs on the cinder track to the left, but this is the southern end of the route along the railway as the trackbed south of here is owned by the Swindon and Cricklade Railway.
