SU9571 : Queen Elizabeth II statue
taken 12 years ago, near to Woodside, Bracknell Forest, England
Queen Elizabeth II statue
This is the only statue of our present Queen in a public place. It shows her on horseback and is 1.5 times life size. It is made of patinated bronze, which won't turn green. It was commissioned by the Crown Estate Commissioners, sculpted by Philip Jackson and cast in 12 pieces by the Maurice Singer foundry in Alton, Hampshire. It was unveiled by the Queen herself at this site on 27 October 2003, commemorating the Queen's Golden Jubilee the previous year.
No horses? Well of course, they will be frightened by the one already there.
