Perth Railway Bridge
Perth railway bridge was built in 1863, replacing a wooden structure that had been built 14 years earlier. It was designed by the Caledonian Railway Company to carry the single track Perth to Dundee line.

The bridge is supported by iron girders where it passes over the River Tay and stone archways over Moncrieffe Island. The span nearest to the west bank of the river was originally designed to swing open to allow shipping to pass further upriver. Such traffic ended in the late nineteenth century.
