A farm access bridge which also carries a public footpath. Note that the bridge is constructed of both stone and bricks. See NY7807 : Bridge over dismantled railway for a view of the top of the bridge.
The South Durham and Lancashire Railway opened in 1861. This section remained open until 1975.
