A leaping salmon at Murray's Cauld near Selkirk

This salmon is valiantly trying to negotiate the fast running water at this weir on the Ettrick Water in order to progress upstream to breeding grounds. The Ettrick Water has a spring and autumn run of salmon. For a view across the cauld from the south bank, see NT4427 : Murray's Cauld.
