Gisborne Court (detail) at Peterhouse, Cambridge
This image shows part of the north-east corner of Gisborne Court above the passageway to Old Court, known as Noah's Ark. The initials FB w&c on the masonry I have yet to identify, but I have my spies on the case*!

*Edit: "the notorious Francis Barnes" watch this space :-))

The court was built in 1825-1826 in white brick with stone dressings in a simple Gothic revival style from the designs of William McIntosh Brookes. Only three sides to the court were built; the west side was just a screen wall, which has since been demolished. Plans are in an advanced stage for building the west side. As the whole college is Grade I listed, sympathetic architecture for the new buildings is paramount. See a model of the plans here: LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link )

Rooms in Gisborne Court are mainly occupied by undergraduates, with some senior tutorial staff offices.

Peterhouse is the oldest (and smallest) of the traditional colleges which now make up Cambridge University. It was founded in 1284.
