Odd one out, LED streetlight
One of the sodium lamps on this path was vandalised and has been replaced by an LED version - see the close-up at TL8465 : LED streetlight, or pathlight in this case. This photograph provides an interesting comparison of the brightness and colour. It is interesting to see that the LED bicycle light has created a markedly brighter area.

Two days later all the lamps were being changed over to the LED type, and a word with the workman revealed that these use 10 LEDs, each of 10W, so a total input of 100W, which he noted was much less than the old lamps, so a saving in running costs.

On the right of this photo the fence prevents access to the railway embankment, while on the left the fence surrounds the playing fields of King Edward VI school LinkExternal link.
