HMS Rame Head was the Canadian version of a Liberty Ship - the Fort/Park and was used as an RN floating workshop before taking on a static role at HMS Excellent. Powered by a single 2500 hp vertical triple expansion engine with two water tube boilers. The vessel was towed away for scrapping in Belgium during 2009.

Our intrepid group was stood on the middle level of the enormous reciprocating steam engine and wearing masks due to the presence of asbestos. A subsequent request to visit (in the 2000s) was refused due to the self same asbestos.
