NY7534 : Mine spoil near Tynehead

taken 18 years ago, near to River Tees [water Feature], Cumbria, Great Britain

Mine spoil near Tynehead
Mine spoil near Tynehead
Tynehead as the name suggests is close to the source of the River Tyne, actually it's the South Tyne. The shallow valley in view here though is that of the River Tees which itself has its source nearby at the col between Little Dun Fell and Cross Fell, the centre and right hand peaks in view. The grassed foreground hump is mine spoil from a minor working in the area.
