Tatarian dogwood (Cornus alba) (1)
The bright red stems of the dogwood shrub really stand out on a gloomy winters day, pictured here in the Southern Washlands nature corridor.
Native to China and Korea and with a mature Height of 8-10 Feet, it has creamy white flowers in flat topped clusters, white to pale blue fruit in clusters in late summer and autumn, with the stems turning red in winter.
