Kilgetty Ironworks Workshops
Kilgetty Ironworks Workshops
The Platform.

After an extensive conservation programme the Platform (as it was locally known owing to its resemblance to a station building) housed a fitter's shop and lathe room, smithery with four hearths, carpenter's shop and pattern room with the manager's offices on the second floor. At the far end of the building, now in ruins, is the boiler house. At the side of the boiler house was a sawmill which was constructed using galvanised corrugated iron, with a detached roofed sawpit, the roof covered with Patent Asphalted Roofing felt. The Platform workshops were used up until the closure of the Kilgetty colliery after the Second World War.
