A pre-Nationalisation photograph of rebuilt 'Royal Scot' 7P 4-6-0 No. 6127 'The Old Contemptibles' (built 9/27 as 'Meteor', renamed 1935, rebuilt 8/44, withdrawn 12/62) is resting in a line-up near the coaling plant (seen behind) coaled up ready for its next express duty. (The rebuilds lacked smoke-deflectors at first). Camden was the principal Depot for expresses from Euston: coded 1B by the LMSR and by BR(LMR). having an allocation in 1946 of 60:- 17 4-6-2, 29 4-6-0 and 14 0-6-0T.
