The Toll House bears a suitable Wylam wind-vane over one of its dormer windows NZ1164 : 'Puffing Billy' weathervane, The Toll House, Wylam.
Originally, the bridge toll house was at the south end near the entrance to the Station car park. It was replaced by the new toll house, shown here, in about 1910. The bridge was finally freed from tolls in 1936.
