The Scottish Temperance Buildings, Belfast (2)
An imposing sandstone, turreted structure at the corner of Donegall Square South and Bedford Street (right) - the Scottish Temperance (later Scottish Mutual) Buildings were built in 1904 to a design by Henry Seaver. The building seems to be unaltered. J3373 : The Scottish Temperance Buildings, Belfast (March 2008) shows the doorway facing Donegall Square South.
The proposed Scottish Mutual hotel site, Belfast
An imposing sandstone, turreted structure at the corner of Donegall Square South and Bedford Street, the Scottish Temperance (later Scottish Mutual) Buildings were built in 1904 to a design by Henry Seaver and remain “as built”. It was reported (July 2013) that the intention is to convert the building into a hotel incorporating ground-floor bars and restaurants.
