East Thickley Footbridge
Once this footbridge spanned Shildon sidings which were reckoned to be "the most extensive in the kingdom". Now the tracks have been reduced to the up and down rails of the Darlington to Bishop Auckland Railway and a single siding for the Locomotion Railway Museum.
The bridge shows three distinct stages of construction. To the left of the earliest stone arch is a metal span dated 1857. To the right is some other steel spans of a different construction.
