This belonged to a Mr James Newnham and was in his front garden. Neither he or it are still there and I don't know who is currently responsible for it or where. This is the only example I have ever seen and it is a horizontal tandem compound with the rear low pressure cylinder driving out the rear cover and then back by side rods to the crosshead. They were used mainly in gasworks for driving boosters or exhausters. Mr Newnham also had a marine steering engine hung on the wall by his front door but that, too, has gone as far as I know.

It took me a long time to locate this site using google streetview and my memory and I did think twice about showing somebody's front garden but, as stated above, neither engine or owner are there and there is nothing to see anymore.
