SE8499 : Moor Crossing

Moor Crossing
Moor Crossing
This is the original course of the railway, crossing the lane south from Goathland here at Moor Crossing, or Moorgates. I presume that it used to be a level crossing. This section of line, now a bridleway, was short lived, from 1836 to 1865, after which it was replaced by a newer line that took a lower route down the valley.
