The Tumble Inn, Pontypridd
Built on the site of the old post office, the Wetherspoon pub opened in February 2004. It is located opposite Pontypridd railway station, at 4-9 Broadway near the point where the street is renamed Sardis Road.
For much of the 19th century, this area of Pontypridd was known as The Tumble.
The usual explanation of the name is that horse-drawn carts often overturned hereabouts, though a wag might say that Tumble was an apt name because of the many inns and public houses in the area...
