Embankment on the "Wannie Line"
The Wansbeck Railway, affectionately known as the "Wannie line", ran from Morpeth to Redesmouth where there was a junction with the Border Counties Railway. The line was opened in 1865, closed in 1966. A long thin plantation occupies the top of the embankment.
