This inverted vertical single cylinder engine by Alfred Shaw of Lewes and built c1880-1900 was originally at the Star Lane Brewery of Beard & Co Ltd. It was removed in 1985 and has been restored and re-erected at Harvey's Brewery alongside the indigenous Pontifex & Wood steam engine. The cylinder is c7" x 12" and the flywheel is 3' 11".
