Strip Lynchets
Strip Lynchets
Seen from the footpath, part of the Gloucestershire Way, the strip lynchets are very evident. These lynchets are a scheduled ancient monument although the area scheduled does not cover the bulk of the lynchets. English Heritage describe strip lynchets as "A terraced field usually found on hillsides. Comprising a flat strip of land, called the tread, and a steep, scarped lynchet or edge, called the riser"
