19 Chapel Walks, Manchester
19 Chapel Walks, Manchester
Beautiful example of Manchester's palazzo warehouses. Built c1868. Pevsner attributes its design on stylistic grounds to Clegg & Knowles (e.g. compare with SJ8497 : 109 Princess Street, Manchester). They hit on a great formula and were not afraid to re-use it. Red brick, stone dressings, round-arched and segmentally-arched windows, all with moulded impost bands, architraves/hoodmoulds and keystones. Grade II listed.
Ground floor currently occupied by a restaurant, the upper floors, at least partially vacant, offices.
