SJ8498 : Former Reform Club, King Street, Manchester

Former Reform Club, King Street, Manchester
Former Reform Club, King Street, Manchester
A sumptuous essay in Venetian Gothic. At each end are marvellous oriels culminating in turrets with spiky projections (SJ8498 : Detail of former Reform Club, King Street, Manchester). The first floor has a row of large windows with stripy pointed arches. By Edward Salomons, 1870-71. Grade II* listed.
It is now a bar and restaurant, and possibly a club too, though, sadly, no longer one likely to be frequented by prodigiously-whiskered Victorian gents.
