Overflying Curlew - Goldcliff
One of a flock at the Newport Wetlands Reserve lagoons. Visitors, unless easily pleased, should be forewarned not to expect too much when visiting such a site. With a falling tide on a calm sunny day birds were scarce and not at all in the numbers one would hope for. Closest birds were close to 70m from hides unless, as in this case, one ventured away from the flock. Regular visitors living locally are fortunate to be able to visit at will however and will be well rewarded over time.
