NT1474 : Flood Plain

taken 7 years ago, near to Kirkliston, Edinburgh, Great Britain

Flood Plain
Flood Plain
It's easy to see why the land on the other side of the River Almond here was chosen for Edinburgh Airport. Being the flood plain of the River Almond, it is as flat as the proverbial pancake. It still floods from time to time, and the large puddle here was still frozen well after noon today.
