Had I realised that the road up to the plant was a public footpath, I might have taken this picture from somewhere a little closer.

The Omya plant in Steeple Morden produces various calcium carbonate products from the chalk quarried just behind it. It is signed “Whiting plant” from the road, meaning not the fish, but a substance used to make things white.
