NT1977 : River Almond

taken 7 years ago, near to Cramond, Edinburgh, Great Britain

River Almond
River Almond
At low tide the River Almond crosses the sand and mudflats here, entering the sea west of Cramond Island. The mudflats provide rich feeding for wintering waders and gulls, which congregate along the river and around the tidal pools. I tree trunk, presumably washed down the river, lies half-buried in the mud.
