NT1978 : North End of the Island

taken 7 years ago, near to Cramond, Edinburgh, Great Britain

North End of the Island
North End of the Island
I'm unsure what the function of the concrete pillars was, but the mushroom-shaped object at the end of what looks like a jetty is the outfall where waste water is discharged into the firth after being pumped along the pipeline under the causeway. Notice the bank of fog obscuring the view across the firth.
