Volcanic Outcrop
Volcanic Outcrop
The foreground rocks here are volcanic, but lighter in colour and coarser grained than the basalt further north. Beyond the island, the River Almond finally flows into the Firth of Forth, with the long sandbank marking its far bank. The fog has dispersed, revealing most of the Forth Bridges in the distance.
