SK9771 : Ancient terracing

taken 7 years ago, near to Lincoln, Lincolnshire, Great Britain

Ancient terracing
Ancient terracing
Terraced slope in the grounds of Chad Varah House, reputedly Roman in origin and the site of the Medieval Fish Market between the lost churches of St.John the Poor and St.Peter ad Vincula. Even today, the site is strewn with discarded oyster shells where the terracing has eroded.
