Aberthaw Lime Kiln Tramway
Aberthaw Lime Kiln Tramway
The two iron posts (the second one is near the water) appear to be the remains of a bridge carrying the tramway across the narrow pool.
The pebbles were collected from the beach and made into what was known as "Cardiff Lime".
There are several photos of the recently renovated lime kilns 500m to the North-West at grid reference ST 039 660.
The line of the tramway is clearly visible on Google Earth.
