Is one-way, for access to The Square. The Rose and Crown was originally timber-framed and built in the 16th century. Most of it was refronted and extended at the south end where a datestone gives the date, 1740, although some of the original Tudor timber-framing may be viewed at the north end TR1743 : Rose & Crown, Elham . It was used for many years as the Elham Petty Sessions; the magistrate visited once a fortnight.
