Gt Victoria Street Baptist church, at the corner of Hope Street J3373 : Hope Street, Belfast (right) was completed in 1866 to a design by William Hastings (who also designed the (now demolished) synagogue, in the same street, of 1871). The building includes this J3373 : The smallest house in Belfast? – on the left between the church and the BBC Blackstaff Studios. The doorway is a later alteration. The building is not listed. The following application for planning permission was shown on the DoE website this week “1499/F Great Victoria Street Baptist Church , 66 Great Victoria Street , Belfast Demolition of Great Victoria Street Baptist Church, refurbishment of church facade and construction of temporary surface level private car park for church use”. The DoE website discloses that permission was given on 29 August 2012.
There is currently (January 2014) an application (Z/2014/0005/F) an application for planning permission to extend the date for use of the site as a temporary car park.
