The church was built to the designs of Benjamin Ferry in 1850. The only visible relics of the 13th century church are the tower and porch beneath it as well as some of the smaller features in the chancel.

The parish is part of the Bride Valley Team Ministry and is in the Deanery of Lyme Bay.
