NN0545 : South ridge of Beinn Sgulaird

taken 7 years ago, 3 km from Elleric, Argyll And Bute, Great Britain

South ridge of Beinn Sgulaird
South ridge of Beinn Sgulaird
The ridge is very rocky and quite easy to walk up. Just before the summit there is a bump made up of shattered granite boulders, probably due to frost shattering when this was a nunatak. The boulders are easy to cross being rough, but on this occasion they were coated in clear ice. The rocks can be avoided on the left (west side) by a grassy traverse which quickly brings up the summit. NN0546 : Beinn Sgulaird

Once again the tagging system fails. It is full of redundancy for urban environments but does not work on high ground or cope with rock.
