Temporary footbridge
Temporary footbridge
Over a period of 6 months from July 2011 to January 2012, Reigate Hill footbridge, which carries the North Downs Way across the A217, was closed for refurbishment, with a temporary bridge in place alongside it. On the weekend of 21/22 January 2012, the A217 was closed to traffic to enable the removal of the temporary bridge, seen here with part of the crane to be used for its removal on the left. Beyond can be seen the refurbished permanent bridge.
