Connecting the ways
Connecting the ways
The Greenway, part of the Monarch's Way long distance path, is a footpath and bicycle track along the line of the dismantled Great Western Railway. The Avon Valley Footpath (lately re-named as Shakespeare's Avon Way) has followed the south bank of the river from Stratford-upon-Avon. Here it crosses underneath The Greenway to regain the river bank. This footpath up the embankment connects the two long distance ways.
