The path behind Sgwd yr Eira waterfall
Some walkers make their crossing behind the waterfall on a very slippery rocky path. Full waterproofs strongly recommended as the spume and spray will leave you wet, even in the few seconds it takes.

The last time I was here, in July 2007, the waterfall was ribboned off and warning notices proclaimed the hazards of a recent rockfall from the overhanging rocks above the path. Luckily this rockfall took place when no walkers were scuttling underneath.

I crossed anyway and met another risk taking adrenaline junky halfway across - his eyes were like saucers - and we grappled trying to gain the inside path like a scene from a Harold Lloyd flick before passing and alleviating the danger. The danger continues so most walkers neither rush nor dilly-dally, though many stop for the fullest experience and photo opportunities. Yes, me included I'm afraid.
