SU6100 : Barge, Forton Lake

Barge, Forton Lake
Barge, Forton Lake
This barge is one of three known to be lying in the sediment here; the others are further east on the south shore - one a rounded metal "dumb" barge, the final a triangular-shaped section of a vessel which was buried for presumably many decades, until the NAS and HWTMA Project (which inspired my own fieldwork) managed to identify that remains were existent and excavate to reveal a large section of hull. I'll have photos of the others up here in due course.
