Sometimes known as Space House. A typically modish 1960s tower by Richard Seifert & Partners, 1964-66. Trademark pre-cast concrete panels and Y-beams at the base (TQ3081 : Detail of 1 Kemble Street). According to skyscrapernews.com, it was designed in a "drum shape to reduce the lateral forces that can stress a slab-like block thus reducing the engineering requirements and cutting the cost of construction." Grade II listed.
